The Story - Blush is a study in structural harmony. It captures the fleeting, delicate "skin" of the Australian landscape and anchors it within a permanent topography. It’s an exploration of the layers we find in nature—specifically the peeling, blush-toned strata of paperbark trees.

The Materials - I wanted this piece to feel both forensic and soft. The "Digital" half is a macro-photograph printed onto matte architectural aluminium. Because of the matte finish, the metal has a velvety, non-reflective depth that pulls you in rather than bouncing light away.

Interlocking with the aluminum is a tactile, hand-sculpted response. Using heavy-bodied oil paints and moulding paste, I’ve built up a surface that mirrors the organic weight of the earth. I love the quiet tension where these two meet—the silent, velvety smoothness of the metal sitting right against the raw, sculpted texture of the oil.
